The group AH ! KWANTOU brings together a singer and guitarist from Ghana,
Kyekyeku (pronounced tchétchékou), and a band of excellent musicians all based in the southwest of France, in the service of an explosive musical mix that ranges from highlife to Soul, from afrobeat to funk, draws on Atlantic heritage.

 

It is on the shores of this ocean that the meeting of these groove enthusiasts, fanatics of African polyrhythmic exuberance, gave birth to a first album eponymous: AH! KWANTOU, which alone bears witness to the fertility of the music of the Black Atlantic,and its relevance, for those who know how to marry them with as much love, respect, and the desire to make people dance.

Their ship is ready to dock at all shores, and begins by following the wake left by the seminal highlife. Because it is this wonderful sound, born from the meeting of jazz, calypso, palm wine music and Ghana musical traditions that will set the course for their music.

It is impossible to miss the formidable grooves born from the intertwining of guitars with each other, and of these with drums and percussions, impossible to resist the sun or the stormthat the brass unleashes, and to the agile voice of Kyekyeku who, carried by so much energy, tells stories of life or sows rays of happiness.
