In 1993, João Parahyba accepted the challenge of creating a radically different work based only on percussion instruments. With the help of Serbian producer Mitar Subotic, Suba, he recorded and reprocessed thirteen pieces, eight of which were presented and recorded live at the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center in Rio de Janeiro. With unique timbres and textures, combined with Parahyba's rhythmic creativity and Suba's exquisite mix, the album is a perfect blend of past and future, ancestrality and modernity.
